What it actually means

Abandoned cart flows recover 5-12% of would-be lost revenue. The standard structure: reminder (1 hour after abandonment), value reinforcement / objection handling (24 hours), incentive (48 hours, optional). Average order value on recovered carts is typically 15-25% higher than non-abandoned orders because the abandoner was already considering a larger basket. The flow becomes more powerful when paired with SMS (SMS abandoned cart converts 2-3x higher than email alone).
